The Bible indicates giving is to be a “first” and not a last or left-over matter in my life, as in Proverbs 3:9-10. It is easy to let our standards and intentions be compromised by the press of expenses and billing cycles. Contributions are what helps sustain our mission and vision to continuously impact the community.
Contributions Can Be Made To Zion United Methodist Church of Iona In A Number of Ways:
- Use your offering envelopes to assure your contribution goes to the fund of your choice: Current Budget – Capital Improvements – Missions
- Automatic monthly payments can be made from your checking or savings account on the 15th of each month. To register for this automatic transfer of funds, contact the Treasurer, Valery Light, for the proper authorization forms.
- Donation in kind – Worship materials or supplies, etc. for the church that you would like to pay for individually can be credit to your giving account as a “donation in kind.”
- Memorial gifts can be designated in memory of a loved one or can be donated through your will.
- In general, contributions can be made by sending a check to Zion U.M. Church of Iona, 1920 South 5th Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042, with a notation that it is a donation.
If you do not have offering envelopes and would like to have them, please contact either the Treasurer or the Church Office at 717-273-2958 and they will be provided for you.
A giving statement is sent at the end of each year to each individual using offering envelopes to identify their giving account. This statement is provided to allow you to deduct your donations on your income tax return if you itemize your deductions, or just for your own personal record.

Q: Is my personal information safe?
A: Absolutely. As a Church, we are committed to protecting your personal information. Any information you provide as it relates to financial transactions is maintained in a secure, protected environment and is available only to you and our accounting staff.
Q: What payment options are available?
A: Major credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Debit and bank cards are also accepted, as long as they have a Visa or MasterCard logo on them. If you like, you can use the e-Check option as well; it’s just like writing a check.
Q: When I give electronically, can I still specify where I want my money to go?
A: Yes, you will be able to choose the amount for each of our three giving areas:
- General Fund
- Capital Improvement
- Missions
Q: When is the automatic contribution charged to my account?
A: That’s up to you! You can select to have the automatic contribution be
one-time, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. You can also set up as many contribution schedules as you’d like, so you may give more than one type of gift. Keep in mind that contributions scheduled on Friday through Sunday may not show up on your bank account or statement until early the following week.
Q: Will all of my money go to the church?
A: 100% of your e-giving will go toward the Zion UMC of Iona church ministries.
